Patrick Wilt Announces Candidacy for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District

Leesburg, VA – Patrick Wilt, a Virginia father, husband, civic leader, small business owner, and business executive announced his candidacy today for the Republican nomination in Virginia’s 10th Congressional District.

“I’m running for Congress to put America back on the right track,” said Wilt.

“For our children and grandchildren, we need to ensure an America that is safe, secure, free and prosperous. The time to act is now!!

The national debt of $37 trillion is an anchor on America’s ability to start-up and grow businesses and to create jobs and opportunities. We pay an additional $1 trillion in taxes every year just to pay the interest on the debt. This is a multi-generational problem that must be addressed now with strong, resolved leadership.

For decades our national security has been at risk. We must refocus and strengthen our military forces. We must regain our critical supply chains that have been lost to China …. a strategic adversary. Pharmaceuticals, rare earth minerals, and manufacturing are vulnerable.  We must further ensure our energy independence and secure our domestic food supply by supporting America’s farmers. We must reestablish American self-sufficiency.

We have finally, after four years of the Biden administration failure, regained control of our southern border. Illegal immigration led to gangs, violence and murder, drug trafficking, and human trafficking. Fentanyl and opioids flooded the country. We must fix the damage that has been done and reinforce our border to guarantee our future security.”

Wilt received his Master's Degree in Finance from the University of Michigan and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo.

Wilt began his professional career as an Engineer with Ford Motor Company and then as Finance Manager with Procter & Gamble. Later, Wilt advised multi-national companies such as IBM, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Libbey and Shell on Operations and Finance issues. Wilt managed organizations in technology development at USAA, Capital One, and Fannie Mae before transitioning into small business ownership when he founded Black Walnut Brewery in Leesburg, VA. Currently, Wilt advises federal government agencies in the intelligence community on technology development and is a member of the Leesburg Town Council.

Virginia’s 10th Congressional District includes all of Rappahannock County, Fauquier County and Loudoun County, parts of Fairfax County and Prince William County, as well as the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.

Patrick will bring common-sense leadership to Congress.

22 June 2025 - U.S. Strike on Iran

Yesterday's limited and targeted strike was an extremely difficult decision to make and it was the necessary and correct decision.

Iran has directly and indirectly killed thousands of people and is the world's largest state sponsor of global terrorism. The danger of Iran completing a nuclear weapon was imminent and incontrovertible.

The leaders of both the House and Senate were informed of the strike in advance. The strike was limited only to three strategic nuclear weapons facilities and was consistent with the precedent of previous administrations.

Thank you to all the amazing service members who participated in and supported this operation.

19 June 2025 - SCOTUS rules on state ban on gender transition 'treatments'

I support today's Supreme Court decision. States are allowed to protect children from life-altering medical procedures.

13 June 2025 - Iran / Israel Conflict

In this ongoing conflict, Israel has the right to defend itself. All people desire peace, but a world with a violent, nuclear-armed Iranian dictatorship is an illusion of peace.
